Quality construction

Double wall construction

Solarus Saunas are made using the very strong "double-wall" construction technique. This method uses a framework very much like the studs in a house to form the backbone of each panel. This method is more than 3 times the strength of single-wall, which is very easily bent or distorted.

On each side of the framework, strips of tongue-and-groove vertical grain cedar are attached using completely non-toxic wood glue. This system creates a very rigid panel. Many saunas use single-wall construction which results in bent panels and unhappy customers, as well as the possibility of the sauna "coming apart" at inopportune moments.

Tongue and Groove

We don't stop with just the finest vertical grain cedar. To top it off, we have it milled into what's known as a "tongue-and-groove" shape. The pieces interlock with one another to add further overall strength to the sauna, giving you more assurance of a quality, long-lasting product.

To make it even stronger and long lasting, Solarus Saunas use a system of joining the (already rigid) walls together that uses a "tongue" on one wall and a "groove" on the other wall. Once the roof is in place and the walls are interlocked and fastened together, the whole unit becomes as one in strength, beauty, and durability.

No tools are required for assembly

Most of the units we sell require an unheard of "no tools" for assembly or disassembly. Yes, you read that right. Solarus Saunas are engineered so precisely and uniquely that they require not a single tool to assemble. And they can be put together in about 20 minutes by the average person. Full instructions with step by step photos are included. Read the manual first, please.

Strong floor support

Even the floor, an often overlooked, but essential, part of the construction is well supported. Made with more and thicker framing as well as having full support in the center, the floor of your Solarus Sauna can withstand the weight of someone ready to tackle that new diet.

The finest Canadian Western Red Cedar

Only the finest vertical grain Red Cedar from the pristine Canadian forests is used in the Solarus Sauna. Its properties of fighting against the ravages of mold, bacteria, and fungus make it the very best wood in such a moist setting as a sauna. Even though no water is added in an infrared sauna session, your sweat does make the air somewhat humid inside.

If you're looking for a sauna to last a lifetime, make sure it is made from this fantastic wood.

Good ventilation

Although there is no need to vent your unit to the outside, Solarus has a unique ventilation system allowing fresh air to be circulated through the cabin for greater comfort. A manually operated vent in the ceiling and another in the front window allow passive flow-through of fresh air in the upper part of the unit making breathing even easier.

Our Standard Features

Each Solarus Sauna comes with high quality stereo speakers and a good reading light. Long speaker wires enable the owner to hook up a variety of sound sources, including CD players, television sound, or any of a number of others from a nearby table, or even placed on the top of the sauna.
